Abstract

This paper analyzes the influence of government policies and reforms on economic growth in Uzbekistan, focusing on the significant transformations that have occurred since the country’s independence. Following a period of centralized economic planning, Uzbekistan has embarked on a series of market-oriented reforms aimed at enhancing economic performance, attracting foreign investment, and promoting sustainable growth. This study employs a mixed-methods approach, integrating quantitative analysis of economic indicators with qualitative insights from policymakers and industry experts. The findings reveal that government policies, including liberalization of trade, tax reforms, and investment in infrastructure, have played a crucial role in stimulating economic growth and improving the business environment. The results indicate a positive correlation between policy reforms and GDP growth, with sectors such as manufacturing and services experiencing notable expansion. However, challenges remain, including the need for further structural reforms, improved regulatory frameworks, and enhanced human capital development. The paper concludes with recommendations for policymakers to strengthen the impact of government reforms on economic growth by fostering a more conducive environment for investment, innovation, and inclusive development.
